Set within the heart of one of Hong Kong’s most bustling shopping arcades, this timber pavilion is a serene retreat for Omotesando Koffee, designed by Studio Adjective. Bathed in natural light, the space embodies quiet sophistication, balancing precision with warmth.
At its core, the iconic coffee bar takes centre stage - a refined interpretation of Omotesando Koffee’s signature aesthetic. A delicate interplay of black-coated steel and stained oak frames the structure, lending a sense of quiet strength. The bar itself, crafted from oak and textured natural stone, forms a tactile, grounding presence. Overhead, slanted timber panels filter sunlight, casting soft, shifting shadows. A ceiling grid extends seamlessly to the façade, integrating pendant signage that enhances the pavilion’s sculptural quality.
Designed to offer varied seating experiences, a U-shaped high table with bespoke swivel stools encourages interaction between baristas and guests. Along the main aisle, standing benches provide views of the bustling street or an intimate focus on the coffee-making ritual. At the rear, a lounge setting with custom-designed chairs and a sculpted coffee table creates a refined space for quiet moments or informal meetings.
Seamlessly blending materiality and atmosphere, the space distils the essence of Japanese hospitality, thoughtfully reimagined in an urban context.
